Paxmead Riverside Base is Girlguiding Surrey West’s boating centre situated on a delightful stretch of the River Thames in Shepperton, Middlesex within easy reach of both Windsor and London.
With a beautiful stretch of water on our doorstep, boating is a natural past time and obvious choice and a tow path runs alongside the river in both directions to walk along with the group.

We can cater for Have a Go Sessions or work at improving skills towards an award.
 
We run Evening Boating Sessions for working towards the British Canoeing Paddlepower Scheme as well as the Star Awards.

Why not bring your Girlguiding or Scouting Groups down for a treat on the river either for an evening paddle or end of term event?

Brownies love the Dragon and Bell Boat whereas Guides tend to prefer the more individual boats.
We aren’t just for the young but also the Young at Heart; adults are positively encouraged to join in to give the complete experience.
We are open all year round with boating available; weather/river conditions permitting.
